Voyage report EVIE P.G.
Fair weather, a smooth trip with a new vessel
The weather was good, and we had a safe trip with a brand-new ship!
It was an outward bound voyage with the EVIE P.G., one of the last ships built by Volharding Shipyards B.V. at Harlingen.
We sailed with the assistance of the tugs Theo en Jenny from Tuinman tugboat company.
There were festivities in Harlingen around the annual Fishing Fleet Days. The charter fleet of traditional sailing ships as well as pleasure craft were out on the water.
As the EVIE P.G. is oversized for Harlingen, vessel traffic at the harbour was suspended during its passage of the outer harbour and pier heads.
There was an English crew on board. The piloting was done by Jacob Kiewied, pilot at Harlingen.
Bas Deen, colleague at Delfzijl, was also on board for one of his training voyages to become an integrated pilot at Harlingen.
The pilots were disembarked at the Waddenzee by pilot tender Endeavour.
